Research Interests include the following: mechanochemical systems, machine design and tribotronics*. Our research is focused on the development of more sustainable, environmentally adapted and energy efficient components and systems such as rolling and sliding bearings, gears, wet clutches, seals, threaded fasteners, lubricants (oils, greases, aqueous lubes and ionic materials).

LTU’s group designs and carries out synthesis and physico-chemical characterisations of novel classes of non-halogenated orthoborate-based ionic liquids to be tested as neat lubricants and as additives to lubricants in other WPs of the consortium.
